| PassProtector is a protection for any type of sites having an area with a restricted access such as adult paysites. It protects websites from password traders and their programs trying to break into websites' members area using lists of well-known usernames and passwords. PassProtector works independently on any payment processing company.
Basic Overview: Password Traders PassProtector monitors all logins to your members section. If the same login is used from a number of different IP addresses, the login name is disabled. Brute Force Hacking Scripts PassProtector also monitors all FAILED logins to your members section. If there are more than a chosen number of failed logins from one IP, the IP is blocked for a limited amount of time. We take proxies into consideration too. Site Mirroring Programs PassProtector protects websites from users using any program for downloading all websites for offline viewing. Surfers using such programs can download all your content within a couple of hours which leads to enormous bandwidth costs. PassProtector allows to set a daily bandwidth limit per member. Admin Tools PassProtector settings are fully configurable including the number of allowed IPs for both successful and failed logins, the URL of the page where all users using disabled logins are sent to or an easy way of adding new sites under the same PassProtector's account. Extensive statistics of all logins and IPs are updated every minute. Installation Requirements To cause as low server-load as possible, PassProtector runs as a C binary connected to your webserver. This will assure almost no impact on your server performance. At this moment, PassProtector supports Apache webserver version 1.3.x and higher running on Unix based operating systems.
